Public Sector
Client:
State of Texas
Actions: Completed a strategic plan for the State
and its 37,000 vehicles in early 2000. Efforts focused on both
strategy formulation and tactical improvements for the 220 agencies
that comprise state government. A new trip pool was part of the
solution. Fleet utilization targets were an integral part of the
plan.
Client:
Anchorage, Alaska
Actions: Performed a study focused on the feasibility
of combining decentralized, discrete fleet functions under an
umbrella fleet operation. Functions studied and analyzed included
Water and Wastewater, Public Works, Schools, Utilities and Sold
Waste.
Client:
Fort Worth, Texas
Actions: Conducted
a comprehensive review of fleet operations. Elements included:
developing a financial recovery plan, revamping maintenance management
for the 5,000 unit fleet, reviewing information processes and
developing an RFP, controlling fleet utilization and instituting
a privatization initiative.

Schools on a variety of transportation issues. Working catalytically,
TCI assisted Nashville’s catapult from a poor performer to
a “Top
50” fleet as ranked by School Bus Magazine. Click here to

Douglas County Schools, Georgia
Actions: Assessed the operations within the Transportation
Department, including: staff reorganization, new performance measures,
charges for support vehicles, facility reorganization, user communications,
training plans, and RFP development.

The Breck School, Minnesota
Actions: Analyzed
operations and costs related to the acquisition, maintenance and
disposal of its school bus assets. TCI’s analysis served to
chart both a strategic and tactical plan to effect greater cost
